O.P. Jindal Global University is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and accessible campus environment for all members of its community, including persons with disabilities. Recognizing the diverse needs of individuals, the University ensures equal access to academic programmes, campus infrastructure, digital resources, and co-curricular activities.
In alignment with applicable legal frameworks such as the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017, and relevant UGC guidelines, this policy establishes a structured framework for providing reasonable accommodations. It applies to students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and covers a wide range of disabilities, including physical, sensory, learning, medical, and mental health conditions.
The policy aims to ensure equitable participation by offering individualized accommodations through a transparent, confidential, and efficient process. Requests for accommodations are reviewed by the Disability Support Committee (DSC), while implementation is coordinated by the Disability Support Office (DSO) in collaboration with faculty, administrative departments, counselling services, and the health centre.
Examples of reasonable accommodations may include extended time for examinations, provision of materials in alternative formats, assistive technologies, flexible attendance, note-taking support, and remote participation options. The University maintains strict confidentiality of all disability-related information and follows a zero-tolerance approach towards discrimination or retaliation.
